My shopping list + The joy of podcasting

Hello there, what's cooking?

There was a tingle of joy up my spine as I uploaded the new trailer of my podcast. I had forgotten how much I enjoy this! Podcasting is my happy place.

As a teen blogger (in the *cough cough* 1990s), I was featured on TV a couple of times, which led to working on this show called La Revanche des Nerdz (can't make this up!) in my 20s. It was kind of fun... but radio was always my favorite medium. There's so much more space to go deep... and no make-up to apply!

I was lucky enough to be a guest on various French CBC Radio shows over the years, usually to talk about my academic research about STEM education and jobs. More recently, I was a regular contributor on the Vancouver morning show to talk about environmental issues.

Starting the Vegan Family Kitchen Podcast in 2021 was a watershed moment for me. There's nothing I enjoy more than bringing you deep conversations with interesting and inspiring creators.

With everything that happened in 2025, podcasting went on the back burner... but... IT'S TIME FOR A FRESH START!!! Yeeeeehaaww! 🤠

I am thrilled to launch the Plantwise Podcast and you can listen to the trailer on all podcast apps (or by clicking the image below). I have an all-star cast of guests for upcoming episodes (Victoria Moran! Javant Benton! Michael Greger!) and can't wait to share their wisdom and habits with you.

The spotlight will be on plant-based authors and creators. We are going to discuss their ideas and how to implement them in everyday life, with a focus on nutrition but also including other healthy habits related to exercise, stress management, and more.

The podcast is companion to the Plantwise Book Club. Just yesterday I had the pleasure of recording the episode with Leo Babauta - creator of the Zen Habits blog - with Plantwise Book Club members as co-hosts! It was a ton of fun and I look forward to doing more episodes like this, including the one with Dr. Greger in April. Make sure to join the book club if you'd like to participate. One shopping list to cover it all

Whether you are new to healthy vegan cooking or need a reset focused on whole foods, you'll want to read about what I put on my grocery list, and perhaps download the PDF to use for yourself.

The simple grocery app I used since 2013 no longer works on my phone, and I can't find anything as simple and free in the app store anymore. So I'm thinking about creating a super-duper simple shopping list app for my own purposes. Apparently, AI makes it quite easy to build apps now. Would that be helpful to you? Hit reply and let me know.

Keep on cooking, reading, and doing all the healthy things,

Brigitte
